Description
Clenbuterol is a β2-adrenergic agonist and bronchodilator originally developed for the treatment of respiratory conditions. It is approved for certain medical uses in some countries, although it is not approved for human use in the United States.
Outside clinical settings, Clenbuterol is widely known in bodybuilding and fitness communities for its stimulant and thermogenic properties. It can increase metabolic activity and energy expenditure, which has led to its association with cutting and body-composition programs.
Unlike anabolic steroids, Clenbuterol is not an anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) and does not directly suppress natural testosterone production. Its muscle-building effects in humans remain uncertain, although it is sometimes associated with maintaining performance and muscle during calorie-restricted periods.
Commonly Associated Effects
- Increased metabolic activity and thermogenesis
- Fat-loss support
- Increased energy and stimulation
- Reduced appetite in some users
- Increased blood flow and exercise capacity
- Temporary reduction in water weight
Clenbuterol is a powerful stimulant and can cause significant adverse effects, including increased heart rate, palpitations, tremors, anxiety, elevated blood pressure, and insomnia. Cardiovascular risks can become serious, particularly with excessive exposure or in people with existing heart conditions.
Because of its potency and varying legal and medical status, Clenbuterol should only be used under appropriate professional medical supervision
